REFUND POLICY FOR WINTER SEASON REGISTRATION FEES
30th July 2020
Thank you for your continued patience and support to Solway Basketball Club during these challenging times.
Following recent announcements by the State Government and Basketball Victoria (BV), we can now confirm that the Club will be arranging refunds of the Club component ($165 to $215 per player) for all of our Solway players registered to play in the Winter 2020 season. The refund will be made into the same account that you provided PlayHQ for your Winter basketball. Due to the large number of refunds across Victoria, payment may take some time to finalise so we appreciate your continued patience.
The BV component ($25 per junior player) will not be refunded to you. However, this component does not need to be repaid if you are re-registering for the Summer season. Note that the 12 month registration period covered by the BV component does not commence until your child’s first game is played. That said, BV will consider requests for refunds in limited cases, if you are still interested then please contact the Club.
At this stage the Summer season is expected to commence in early October for the Sunday junior competitions and early November for the Saturday junior competitions. Information on the registration process for Summer is expected to be available in September at the earliest. In the meantime, if you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to seeing all of our Basketball players on court in the near future.

Waverley Basketball & Winter 2020 Update
11th July 2020
Re: COVID-19 Junior Sport
Dear Club Members
As you are all aware, Melbourne has entered another phase of lockdown and this directly impacts all community sport.
After meeting with Basketball Victoria, Waverley Basketball Association has announced that all current competitions for 2020 have been cancelled. This includes our Junior Winter Season, the Senior Spring competition, Falcons, and all NBL1 and BigV games.
The Club is working with WBA, BV and PlayHQ regarding registration payments, credits or refunds for this Winter Season and we will keep you informed as we learn more over the coming couple of weeks. This is an issue that affects every Club and Association across Victoria so the logistics and challenges involved for all organisations are immensely difficult.
On a positive note, WBA are still planning to officially open the new Oakleigh courts on November 1, and hope to commence the Junior Summer comp on November 7-8 if Government regulations allow them to.
We still have trophies for the past Summer Season, which we would still like to present to players at a Club function in the future, however, if any individual trophies are wanted before that date, please contact the Club to arrange pick-up or possibly delivery.
The Committee have truly appreciated your patience through this very challenging year, and we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued understanding.
We will let you know more as information comes to hand.
Best regards and please stay safe.
